Holy Cross members participate in various mission and outreach activities at the national or international level.
Each year in the late fall our youth coordinate collection of donations to support Heifer International, whose mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, they are empowered to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self-reliance and hope. In 2011, Holy Cross Episcopal Church collected over $6,000 of individual donations to this worthwhile project.
Parish Mission Work Trips
Holy Cross Episcopal Church parishioners frequently participate in various mission trips organized by the Diocese of Western Michigan. In 2010, seven members of Holy Cross joined twenty-two other members of the Diocese of Western Michigan and traveled to support hurricane Katrina destruction rebuilding efforts in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area. In 2011, Holy Cross members participated in the following Diocese sponsored mission trips: to assist the Katrina rebuilding effort in New Orleans; to improve living conditions of the Lakota people on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation; and to Kentucky and western appalacia to support children's reading programs.

United Thank Offering
United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through United Thank Offering, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings.
Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. United Thank Offering is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and in invited Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world. At Holy Cross Episcopal Church, we collect our parishioners' offerings in the spring and fall to support this mission.
In 2011 Holy Cross was a receipient of a UTO grant from the national UTO committee of over $11,000 to support our Bhutanese refugee community program.
